Five profiles lean into one another, each cut from its own colour — sand, sage, slate blue, ochre, and a rose that carries a single pale disc at the ear. None of them looks at another. They face the same way and hold the same stillness.
The relief is built in layers, each face raised clear of the one behind it, so the piece throws real shadow rather than printed shadow. In morning light the profiles separate; by evening they close into a single mass.
The largest work in the collection, and the one that most rewards a wall with side light.
