Carved board and modelled plaster, gold leaf, and pigment mixed in studio, on linen or textured paper grounds. Frames are solid oak, walnut, or black ash — never a wrap. Every material is chosen for how it ages under real light.

Muse Collective is a small studio practice in Rajkot, Gujarat. We make collectible objects one at a time — no editions, no reissues, nothing produced to fill a shelf.
The practice
Slowness is the method, not the marketing.
A piece begins as a form worth chasing and stays on the bench until it holds it. Some take a week. Some are set aside for months and come back changed. A few never leave the studio at all — which is the point of not working to a catalogue.
The work sits between craft and sculpture. Forms come from ordinary, unglamorous moments — waiting, arriving, holding something back — and are then given weight, surface, and a place to stand.
What that means for you: the object you receive is the object that was made. The material record of its making stays visible. Small irregularities are kept rather than corrected, because they are the evidence that a hand was here.
Process
Drawn, cut, layered, modelled, sanded, and finished — then mounted and framed. Each stage is done by the same pair of hands, and each one is a chance for the piece to fail. The ones that survive are the ones listed here.
Scale
A handful of finished works a month, at most. This is why pieces sell out and do not return, and why a commission carries a lead time measured in weeks rather than days.
Place
Everything is made in Rajkot, Gujarat, and ships from here. The region has a long working memory for wood, board, and finish work, and the studio draws on the people and suppliers already in it.
